USDBC unveiled a special pavilion at this year’s Alimentaria food show in Barcelona Spain last month. As in past years the USDBC pavilion featured a shared Pulse display together with the U.S. Dry Pea and Lentil Council. The pavilion was double the usual size and included several innovative graphics, displays, and samples in celebration of the International Year of Pulses (IYOP). According to Dave McClellan, USDBC’s Mediterranean Representative, this was the best attendance since 2008.

Mcclellan also reports an unprecedented level of interest in the Pulses pavilion, particularly from the Spanish trade.  Given the level of interest from Spanish buyers, we will be discussing next steps together with our Spanish office and the USDBC delegates in attendance, to ensure follow up on trade leads and interest in learning more about our industry.  We will continue to report on this in the coming weeks.
