The U.S. Dry Bean Council (USDBC) has submitted its annual application for funding, or the Unified Export Strategy (UES) to USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) for the 2017 program year.

Building on over a decade of a successful public/private partnership with FAS, USDBC once again requested funding to support export development for U.S. dry beans around the world through the Market Access Program (MAP), the Foreign Market Development Program (FMD) and the Emerging Markets Program (EMP).

This year’s application builds on the success of ongoing programs but also looks to continue cultivation of new export channels in emerging and developing markets.

Rebecca Bratter, USDBC Executive Director noted, “it’s critical to continue cultivating new demand that helps our industry expand into new markets, the world continues to change at a fast pace, and this application reflects that reality.”

USDBC President Lynn Preator emphasized, “the application reflects the synergy    of the insight, knowledge, and experience of USDBC’s global marketing staff with the industry’s vision for export priorities.”
