Columbia Promotion Campaign Already Showing Results

The USDBC’s pinto promotional campaign is now in full swing. Printed press and in store promotional items are starting to show up in super markets in Medellin and Bogota. USDBC is currently working with four leading Colombian distributors, Aburra, Granos San Pedro, Granipak, and Su Despensa, to get the message out. All of these companies have started placing packaging on the store shelves stamped with the USDBC logo and noting the product is of U.S. origin. USDBC can already report that as a result of this promotional campaign, pinto sales to Colombia have gone from zero to over 1,000 MT in 2015 and could easily double or even triple in 2016. This is another example of how the successful public private partnership between USDBC and USDA’s FAS works to boost agricultural sales and contribute to the U.S. economy.
